According to reporting from CoinDesk, Arbitrum-based AFX Trade has been drained of $24 million. The incident occurred after an attacker compromised bridge keys, allowing them to access sufficient hot-validator signatures to approve a withdrawal.
The attacker used these signatures to initiate a withdrawal of 24.15 million USDC. It's notable that Arbitrum stated its native bridge was not affected by the incident.
The details of how the bridge keys were compromised have not been fully disclosed. However, the successful exploitation of these keys highlights the importance of robust security measures in protecting assets in the cryptocurrency space.
